Curriculum

Curriculum

WEE Learn is a faith-based educational curriculum that provides tools for staff to support children and families as we all grow and learn together. Through interaction and play, early childhood teachers gain insight into each child’s individual differences and learning styles, enabling teachers to maximize each child’s learning potential. WEE learn is a thoughtful and well-planned curriculum with a multiple theoretical basis. By blending works from Bronfenbrenner, Piaget, Erikson and Gardner, early childhood teachers prepare individual and age-appropriate experiences for young children.

    Art

Art is a fun, creative, form of learning and a fantastic example of how children learn best through play! Each class does PROCESS Art two or three times a week in place of art with a pre-determined product.

Process Art emphasizes the process children use to create. It gives the children the freedom to experiment, be creative, and have fun with different mediums without having a defined end result.

    Some examples of process art:

    • Painting with two different colors on opposite sides of bubble wrap then holding it up to the sun to see what color it makes.
    • Painting on brown cardboard with water. Children create something and then watch it fade as it dries so they can create something else! Whether they splatter the water or make strokes they are learning what they can do and how things work.
    • Painting on ice or with ice

Art is all about fun and learning through creative experimentation!

    Playtime

We don’t underestimate playtime!  Children learn best when they play.  Through play children learn how to interact with other children, challenge themselves physically, exercise large muscle groups, and figure out how things work in the world.

    Stretch-n-Grow

Stretch-n-Grow is a fabulously fun fitness program for kids, taught by children's fitness professionals who come to our Center twice a month. Classes provide interactive, non-stop fun using developmentally appropriate physical movements, music, equipment and cognitive lessons.  Offered for children 18 months and older.
