Art is a fun, creative, form of learning and a fantastic example of how children learn best through play! Each class does PROCESS Art two or three times a week in place of art with a pre-determined product.
Process Art emphasizes the process children use to create. It gives the children the freedom to experiment, be creative, and have fun with different mediums without having a defined end result.
Some examples of process art:
- Painting with two different colors on opposite sides of bubble wrap then holding it up to the sun to see what color it makes.
- Painting on brown cardboard with water. Children create something and then watch it fade as it dries so they can create something else! Whether they splatter the water or make strokes they are learning what they can do and how things work.
- Painting on ice or with ice
Art is all about fun and learning through creative experimentation!
