- What are your hours of operation? We are open from 7 am to 6:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
- What ages of children do you provide care for at The Children's Ark? We care for children from 6 weeks old through Pre-Kindergarten. After school & summer camp are provided for Kindergarten through 6th grade.
- Do you have surveillance cameras in your classrooms? Yes, all classrooms have cameras and are monitored at the front desk and in the director's office.
- Do you offer internet viewing of your classrooms? We do not currently offer internet viewing.
- Are meals and snacks provided? Each child is provided with breakfast snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Monthly menus are available in our Newsletter & Menu link. Printed copies are also available to take home. The Center is a nut-free facility; no food products with nuts are served nor are they allowed in the facility.
- How often do the children get to play outside? Each class has 30 minutes scheduled in the morning and again in the afternoon for outside play. If weather does not permit ourdoor play, we have 2 indoor alternative play areas: a gymnasium and an indoor recreation area. Please note that we do not go outdoors to play on Red Level air quality days.
- The Ark is closed on what holidays? Good Friday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving (Thursday & Friday), Christmas Eve or Dec. 23, Christmas Day or Dec. 26, New Year’s Eve (Early Closing), & New Year’s Day
- Are you a licensed child care center? We are licensed & regulated by the State of Texas.
- What training do you require of your staff? Our entire staff is trained in CPR and first aid. Staff are required to take a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education in child care related areas annually.
- Do you provide transportation to and from local schools? We do provide transportation from local schools to our center for those enrolled in Club Impact, our after school program. We do not, however, provide transportation to schools. List of schools is provided under our After School section.
- What is The Children’s Ark policy regarding sick children? We follow a strict policy set by state licensing that requires any child sent home for being sick must remain home until they have been symptom free for 24 hours. You can find more information on this policy in our Parent Handbook located in our Policies & Forms section.
- What is The Children’s Ark policy for bad weather closing? We follow PISD and their decision regarding delayed openings and closings. You can find this information on most local news stations & websites. We will post on the following: KDFW-4, KXAS-5, WFAA-8, KTVT-11 and you can find it on www.nbcdfw.com or radio stations WBAP 820 & KRLD 1080.

What forms are required to enroll my child and where can I find them? All enrollment forms are conveniently located on our website under the Policies & Forms section, or you may simply come in to pick up a packet. Shot records can either be faxed or you may bring a copy with you.

Do I need an appointment to take a tour of The Children’s Ark? No appointment necessary. We will gladly give you a tour when it is convenient for you!
